Jamie Hayes is a half Irish 28 year old basketball pro and part time strength and conditioning masters student who hails from Essex, England. Having started his career at 15 with the Appleton all-stars Jamie went on to play for Brentwood Fire at the age of 19 years old. After this he played for Eastside Eagles, NASSA Neptunes and then got his first semi professional contract at Essex Leopards at the age of 22. His first professional contract brought him to Hemel Storm and he went on to his first overseas contract for Olympia Basket Comiso Italy at 26.  Between then and now he played for the BA London Lions and now is the team captain and a professional player for our EJ’s Sligo All-stars.

Before turning all his efforts to basketball, Hayes played semi-professional football (soccer). 

As part of his varied career path Jamie has taken on the role of modelling and acting for some major TV advertisement productions and he featured in one of the most iconic ads of all time-the 2014 Sainsbury’s Christmas ad. This line of work also saw him work as a body double for some of the worlds best football players.
